The Claysville Christian Church is involved with several mission projects.
New Tribes Missions – Mike and Cher Riepma
The church helps to sponsor Mike and Cher Riepma who are missionaries to Bolivia with New Tribes Missions. They have ministered to the Ese Ejja Tribe in Portachuelo.
Operation Christmas Child – Samaritan’s Purse
At Christmas time the congregation prepares shoeboxes full of gifts to be distributed to needy children all over the world through Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian ministry led by Franklin Graham.
Child Sponsorship – Food for the Hungry
The church sponsors Luis Cobo Guzaro through the ministry of Food for the Hungry. Luis is from the country of Guatemala. His birthday is January 22, 1993. His chores include sweeping and his favorite subject is mathematics. Luis lives with his parents and three brothers in the community of Xexuxcap, high in the mountains near Nebaj.
Child Sponsorship – Compassion International
The church also sponsors Pathamporn Sombatha through the ministry of Compassion International. Pathamporn is from Thailand where he lives with his grandmother and grandfather. His birthday is August 29, 1994. He is responsible for carrying water, caring for children and running errands. He enjoys soccer, art and bicycling.
The church also contributes biannually to six organizations that minister to the local community: Claysville Volunteer Fire Department, Hospice, the McGuffey After School Program, McGuffey Food Pantry, Pregnancy Resource Center and the Washington City Mission. In addition members of the congregation volunteer to assist with food distribution at the McGuffey Food Pantry during the month of November.
